The Firm encourages employees to fulfill their civic responsibilities by performing jury duty when required. A copy of the jury duty summons should be given to the employee’s supervisor as soon as possible so that arrangements can be made to accommodate the absence.
The Firm also will grant leave to appear as a witness if an employee is subpoenaed to do so. If an employee is subpoenaed by the Firm, he or she will receive full pay for the entire period of witness duty at the Firm’s sole discretion. If someone other than the Firm subpoenas the employee, a maximum of 8 hours paid leave will be given to appear in court as a witness. The subpoena must be shown to the Director of Operations immediately upon receipt so that arrangements can be made to accommodate the absence. Employees will be expected to report for work whenever the court schedule permits.
